The prototype evolved through an iterative development cycle. All members of the team worked in a collaborative manner to successfully produce a product that is both innovative in terms on interaction but also easy and natural to use. Thorough and careful consideration was applied to every gesture and user movement.

Task interface

Task interface

The system remembers the users most popular tasks. The task bar can be pulled from off screen onto the screen and left and right movement activates parallax scrolling. Users can create/start new tasks or delete tasks and the system can be shut down.

New task navigation

New task navigation

Once a user has started a new task they gesture right. This journey illustrates a user finding and playing an album and then changing the volume.

Content interface

Content interface

Content controls become active and viewable on screen when it senses movement. All different types of content, for example TV programs, films and music share a content control template. This allows for fluid non-disruptive changes from one content type to another.

Start and stand by mode

Start and stand by mode

The system recognises movement in the environment with the pattern reacting. This triggers the tutorial which guides a users through simple steps to activate the interface.

Icon set and dynamic cursor

Dynamic cursor and icons

Icons were created for all content types and user interactions. The cursor reacts to movement and illustrates movement through the closeness of the dots. The cursor also changes shape depending on the action it will perform.
